Trauma Informed Care Third Seminar Series

Filter

Time: Friday, November 3, 2023 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM

Location: Biomedical Research Tower (BRT) Room 105

Please join us for our third Trauma-Informed Care seminar this Friday, November 3rd at 12pm in the Biomedical Research Tower (BRT) room 105 on Ohio State University campus. The focus of this event is human trafficking; specifically what it is, how it affects those who are trafficked, and how you can intervene.

We will be featuring two speakers: Brooke, our survivor speaker who will share her story, and Katie, who will introduce Freedom a la Cart, a local organization and cafe which works to help trafficking survivors rebuild their lives. We will also be providing baked goods from Freedom, for you all to try!

Brooke is the Butterfly Program Resource Manager at Freedom a la Cart. Through her position she connects survivors with support, community, and resources to help them build sustainability, navigate the challenges of life, and maintain success in recovery. She views her role as an opportunity to give back to women in the survivor community and create a life she never saw possible for herself.

Katie is the Community Engagement Manager at Freedom a la Cart and works on Freedom's community events, fundraising, and with volunteers. She feels passionately about the work Freedom does to support survivors, and loves having the opportunity to engage with the community to share Freedom's important work.

We hope to see you there (in person or on Zoom!)
